About Us

Our Mission: Calvert Nature Society is dedicated to the protection and preservation of Calvert County’s natural heritage and the creation of an environmentally literate and aware community. We provide opportunities for appreciation and understanding of our natural world through our outreach initiatives and in support of the mission of the Calvert County Natural Resources Division.

Our Goals

  • Strengthen Environmental Education – Expand programs that inspire the next generation of environmental stewards.
  • Engage Our Community – Build partnerships, grow our membership, and promote conservation values within Calvert County.
  • Enhance Resources – Develop innovative funding strategies to support impactful programs and initiatives.

Our board meets once a month to discuss strategy, project updates, and opportunities for growth. Board members also participate in fundraising, attend events, and serve as ambassadors for Calvert Nature Society.

Internships

Calvert Nature Society and Calvert County Natural Resource Division have internships for college juniors and seniors and recent graduates.
