Children entering grades 6-8

Monday-Wednesday, July 11-13, 9:00 a.m.-3:00 p.m.
Thursday, July 14, 7:30 a.m. overnight trip to Western MD
Friday, July 15, 6:00 p.m.


This week we will explore all things aquatic while learning the basics of getting around on the water using a variety of watercraft like canoes, kayaks, and river rafts. We’ll explore different aquatic habitats as we retrace the path that water takes from the mountains to the Bay – in reverse. The last 2 days will be an overnight adventure to western Maryland - including tubing on Antietam Creek and rafting on the Shenandoah River. Come prepared to get WET and have fun!

Fee per camper:  Society members: $250
Nonmembers: $280

Registration fee includes camping, tubing and rafting fees, and food for Thursday snacks, dinner and campfire, and Friday breakfast, lunch and snacks.

Locations
Monday – Battle Creek Cypress Swamp
Tuesday – Flag Ponds Nature Park
Wednesday – Kings Landing Park

Thursday meets at Kings Landing Park for overnight trip
Friday pick up at Kings Landing park

Please fill out waivers and return both before the first day of camp. A separate form is needed for each camper for each day.

Programs have staggered registration dates. We advertise programs before registration opens which is why you may see that registration is closed, yet there are spaces available.  See details >

The schedule of events is subject to changed based on the status of the coronavirus response, weather, staffing, and other situations that may arise. If Calvert Nature Society or Calvert County Natural Resources Division cancels a program, a full refund will be issued.
