Welcome to camp letter and packing now available here
For children entering grades 6-8 in Fall 2024
This week we will explore all things aquatic while learning the basics of getting around on the water safely. We will use a variety of watercraft to get us out onto and INTO these wild water habitats - investigating with nets, water quality testing equipment – and our senses. The last 2 days of the week will be an overnight adventure to western Maryland – including a guided canoe experience with local guides, river rafting trip, and camping overnight.
Campers should be comfortable on and in the water and should be competent swimmers.
Registration fee includes camp water bottle, all outfitter/camping fees and equipment needed, Thursday snacks, dinner and campfire with s'mores, and Friday breakfast, lunch and snacks.
Campers will each need a separate online outfitter waiver form for each day of the overnight - canoeing on Thursday and rafting on Friday, in addition to the general Society waiver. Waivers will be filled out online in June - link will be emailed to participants.
Naturalist in Charge: Tania Gale
