For children entering grades 1-2 in Fall 2022

Send your children outside to explore some of nature's creatures with us. They will have a blast playing games, catching animals, and having close encounters with some of our exhibit animals. Each day will feature a different animal theme: reptiles & amphibians, bugs, birds, and fish.

Naturalist in charge: Paige Stevens

Daily Schedule:

Tuesday and Wednesday:  Battle Creek Cypress Swamp

Thursday and Friday: Flag Ponds Nature Park

Fee per camper:

Society members: $100
Nonmembers: $130

Summer camp check-in will be running a little differently this year to take COVID protocol into account. Help expedite camper check-in by being sure to mail in all your camp paperwork before camp begins. All required forms must be submitted at least one week before the camp.

Information you will need can be found here: https://calvertparks.wildapricot.org/resources/Documents/camp/Forms/Checklist.SummerCamp.pdf

COVID Policies and Procedures

The Calvert Nature Society has developed policies and procedures for public program operations based on state and CDC guidelines.

These policies are effective until otherwise rescinded:

  • All participants over the age of 2 (including parents) must wear a mask when social distancing is not possible. Participants must provide their own masks.
  • Please consider the safety, health, and well-being of all participants in our programs and stay home if the participant is ill. Full refunds will be given for cancellations due to health concerns.
  • Prior to participation in any Society sponsored program,  we will ask each individual, to if under 18 a parent, to complete a participant waiver.

Please download and complete the waiver prior to the program. You may complete it online and email to CypressSwamp@CalvertCountyMD.gov, or print it and bring to the program.

The waiver needs to be completed for each in-person program.

Please read our full policy statement and waiver.

The schedule of events is subject to changed based on the status of the coronavirus response, weather, staffing, and other situations that may arise. If Calvert Nature Society or Calvert County Natural Resources Division cancels a program, a full refund will be issued.
