Volunteers will assist with cleaning equipment, clearing and marking the trail, installing temporary signs, and placing maple taps. This event is outdoors  and will involve physical lifting, walking up to 1 mile or more and standing on steep and uneven terrain and possible cold or damp weather. Volunteers should come prepared to be outside for the entire duration of the event. This volunteer opportunity is appropriate for youth ages 12 and up, adults. Youth under age 18 must have adult supervision.

COVID Policies and Procedures

The Calvert Nature Society has developed policies and procedures for public program operations based on state and CDC guidelines.

Prior to participation in any Society sponsored program, we will ask each individual, if under 18 a parent, to agree to the participant waiver. The waiver agreement needs to be completed for each in-person program.

Please read our full policy statement and waiver.

Registration Opening Dates

Programs have staggered registration dates. We advertise programs before registration opens which is why you may see that registration is closed, yet there are spaces available.  See details >

The schedule of events is subject to changed based on the status of the coronavirus response, weather, staffing, and other situations that may arise. If Calvert Nature Society or Calvert County Natural Resources Division cancels a program, a full refund will be issued.
