Speakers: Robin Madel and Sue Williams with Wild Ones Chesapeake Bay Chapter

You might think native plants won't work in your yard, but in this presentation,  Robin Madel and Sue Williams, with Wild Ones Chesapeake Bay, will illustrate how there is a right plant for all those problem spots you might have around your yard.

We'll hold the workshop from 10am to 12pm, followed by a light lunch from 12pm to 12:30pm, then head outside for a work day in the Nature Center native plant beds from 12:30pm to 2:30pm.

This free lecture series is supported by a generous grant from Cove Point Natural Heritage Trust.

Location: Battle Creek Cypress Swamp

Registration is recommended, but not required.

Program Fee: FREE

The Calvert Nature Society Presents environmental lecture series is a year-long educational initiative designed to engage Calvert County residents with accessible, informative and inspiring presentations on environmental topics relevant to Southern Maryland. Each lecture is free and open to the public.

In addition to lectures, the series will showcase natural science research projects and assessments in Southern Maryland – especially the small grant projects that CPNHT supports – as well as other volunteer based activities that contribute to the improvement of the environmental health of our local ecosystem.

Registration Opening Dates

Programs have staggered registration dates. We advertise programs before registration opens which is why you may see that registration is closed, yet there are spaces available.  See details >

The schedule of events is subject to changed based on the status of the coronavirus response, weather, staffing, and other situations that may arise. If Calvert Nature Society or Calvert County Natural Resources Division cancels a program, a full refund will be issued.
