This program is appropriate for all ages. Children under 16 must be accompanied by an adult. This program includes an approximately 3 mile hike and is not stroller-friendly. 

Walktober is a statewide intiative started by the Maryland Department of Transportation that encourages residents to increase physical activity in a fun, community-oriented way while creating awareness for pedestrian safety. Celebrate Walktober with us at Flag Ponds Nature Park with a 3-mile hike along forested and beach trails.

Free for Society members
$8 per family for nonmembers

Naturalist in charge: Kim Curren

The schedule of events is subject to changed based on the status of the coronavirus response, weather, staffing, and other situations that may arise. If Calvert Nature Society or Calvert County Natural Resources Division cancels a program, a full refund will be issued.
