The Bayberry Tradition: Candle Making

This program is appropriate for adults and families with children ages 8 & up. Children under 16 must be accompanied by an adult.

Homemade bayberry candles have been a holiday tradition since the 17th century and are said to bring good luck, wealth, and prosperity to those who burn them. Together we will learn about and participate in the process of creating candles from the naturally occurring wax of the bayberry bush. One lucky participant will win a 100% bayberry wax candle to take home.

Program Fee

$5 per family for Society members
$15 per family for nonmembers
